Around New Tecumseth Family Day Weekend

Family-Day-PictureFamily Day weekend is fast approaching. Do you have any plans made? Here are some ideas of things you can do with your family next weekend:

Drop by your local branch of the New Tecumseth Public Library on Saturday to stock up on books, movies, magazines and more to get you through the long weekend! Bring some friends and enjoy a board game or play with our robot kits.

Join New Tecumseth for Family Day fun at the Tottenham Community & Fitness Centre, 139 Queen St. N., Tottenham on Monday, February 19 from 11 am-2 pm. Family fun for the whole family including games, gym activities, program samplers and free public skate times from 11 am-12:20 pm and 12:30 pm-1:50 pm

Nottawasaga Inn Resort is going Kid Crazy with a variety of Family Day Children’s Programs all weekend long. Festivities include their 4th Annual Family Dash Competition, inflatable jousting, movies, ice skating, a bonfire, treats and crafts! There are activities for kids of all ages.

The Gibson Centre has an art exhibit you may enjoy – Surfacing New Paintings by Graduating BMHS Students.

Drop by the Banting Homestead and learn more about Sir Frederick Banting, the man who discovered insulin.

Take in a movie at Circle Theatre or Imagine Cinemas.

Visit Bizzy Bee Indoor Playground at 169 Dufferin St. S.

Discovery more about our military at the Base Borden Military Museum.

Enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing or a nice long walk at Earl Rowe Provincial Park.

Enjoy the trails at Tottenham Conservation Area.

Letters to Santa

writesanta01Write a letter to Santa & he’ll write back!

The elves & Santa are waiting to receive a Christmas wishlist letter from you and the library is here to get you started!

Come in to write your letter and place it in our special mailbox by Saturday December 9th and Santa’s elves will try to mail you an answer before December 25th. Letter writing begins November 18th in all of our branches.

Make sure to include your full return address.

Wish lists are good and Santa likes to read about family fun and activities too.

You can include pictures and drawings from even his youngest pen pals!

Place your letter in the library’s special mailbox by December 9th.

NTPL Joins Frightfully Fun & Monster Mash

The businesses of the BTBIA and the ABIA downtown improvement associations are once again getting into the Halloween Spirit, and NTPL is proud to announce we will be participating in both of their events!

Tottenham and Beeton residents are invited to dress up their little ones and enjoy “Frightfully Fun” put on by the BTBIA. The D.A. Jones (Beeton) and Pam Kirkpatrick (Tottenham) Branches will be participating in this event.

Friday’s Family Friendly Movie x2!

That’s right! We’re doing 2 showings of our PA Day Friday Family Friendly Movie!Captain Underpants Movie

Friday morning, you can drop by the D.A. Jones Branch in Beeton for a 10:30 am showing of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.

Friday afternoon, you can drop by the Memorial Branch in Alliston for a 2 pm showing of the same film!

You choose the best time and location for your schedule. We provide the movie, the popcorn & the juice!
