Staff Member’s Father Knighted

By order of the President of the Republic of France Jim has been awarded the rank of Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour. The Legion of Honour is the highest national order of France.

Jim landed at Juno Beach in 1944 on D-Day plus 4 and drove his ammunition truck through the war zones of France, Belgium, Netherlands and finally ended the war in East Germany north of Neurenberg.   He served 1,335 days and 867 were overseas.

Jim is the father of NTPL’s own Tina Brophy pictured below with her dad.

Jim was decorated at a ceremony in Penetanguishene on December 9th. Details can be found at simcoe.com.
